‘Pundamania’ word craze is officially launched!

Montreal, July 27, 2010-  The hot new book, The Misfortune 500: Pundamania™, is so witty and comical, that Montreal author, Robert Paris, believes that even Charles Darwin would agree that “This book is the next step in the evolution of comedy.”

The Misfortune 500: Pundamania™ is Paris’ first book and is made up of 500 ‘vignettes’, each covering a different topic. The author exercises comedic license to skewer well-known personalities, corporations, and famous brands through the use of word play and punny insights that only a creative (and zany) mind like his could conjure up. “I have always loved telling stories through word play,” explains Paris. “I enjoy using puns, twisting words or even playing on a person’s name or occupation to make my point. It just comes naturally to me and I have been doing it since I was able to talk.”

Skillfully interjecting farce, satire, puns, and witty dialogue into the 500 ‘vignettes’, Paris’ extraordinary and innate talent for word play has readers guffawing, snickering and really enjoying the read. “Actual vignettes from the book are posted on my website, www.themisfortune500.biz. Feedback from readers is that they have been thoroughly entertained by my accounts of how the Rolling Stones, Sir Elton John, The Beatles and other famous musicians launched their careers.”

"My dream is for Pundamania to be the next great mania to hit North America"
– Author Robert Paris

The launch of The Misfortune 500: Pundamania™ book and the accompanying blog, (also on the website), marks the start of what Paris hopes will become a new word craze. “In addition to the book, the blog is a great venue for my punny way of thinking. My dream is for Pundamania to be the next great mania to hit North America.”

By day, when not playing with his words, Paris is a successful business strategist, executive corporate coach and leadership skills trainer for his company, Groupe Synapse. There is no mistaking that Robert Paris the serious strategist is also Robert Paris the Pundamaniac. The jargon and clever insight into business practice used throughout the book is proof enough that this man has seen it all in many industries and has been waiting for the right time to laugh it off.

Apparently, he is right on track. The wacky, made-up testimonials in the book all echo the sentiments of ‘NASA spokesperson, Benny Andajetz’ who is convinced that “The Misfortune 500: Pundamania™ is “outa this world!”
